 School Clubs

  In addition to their unequalled academic performance, students have a wide variety of student-led organizations in which to participate in after school and on weekends. Around thirty different extracurricular clubs are offered in academic, artistic, athletic, and cultural areas. Through club activities and membership of various organizations, students demonstrate social skills and creativity. Students organize and participate in meetings and activities throughout the year with a final presentation or performance at the end of the year. Students, parents and teachers are invited to participate in the unforgettable festivity and view the remarkable talent on display. The following list shows the wide range of clubs.

Choice Extracurricular Clubs

The Drama Club
The Drama Club is a musical performing club. It has annually staged Broadway musicals such as The Sound of Music, Greece, Fame, and Mamma Mia in their original language, English. The troupe composed of around 12 members act, sing, dance and also dedicate themselves according to their special talents to adapting the scripts, choreographing, designing, and constructing the set, arranging the stage lighting, computer graphics, acoustics and so on. All year long, the members together in a truly creative atmosphere to learn responsibility, cooperation as well as skills.

Invincible Amada - Animation Club
During each year in animation club, all members strive for the annual anthology, which is published at the end of the year. Each student creates in their own story, and even those who are not familiar with drawing can also participate as the editor of the book. The books are published with help of outside supporters and are sold in the club exhibition day. Students develop responsibility and sociality as well as drawing skills through making and selling their own products.

DEW - School English Newspaper
DEW(Dreams Evolve the World) is English newspaper club in Ewha founded in 2001. Students publish magazines twice in a year and all the process is self-financed by the members. DEW deals with various topics from current events to cultural trends in English so that students  and teachers of Ewha both can enjoy. Through its history not as long as other clubs, DEW has won the prize in the national high school English newspaper contest three times.

Ewha Amnesty
Amnesty International is a Non-Governmental Organization for protecting human rights. Ewha Amnesty is one of the most active groups under Amnesty International Korea. In Ewha Amnesty, members participate in campaigns, performances, mimic trials, and leadership camps. The topic of activities is determined by the members of Ewha Amnesty or issued from Amnesty International; those issues usually focus on international problems. Through the years of activities, members can cultivate confidence, patience, strong relationship among members and wider world view. 

Ars Chamber Orchestra
Ars Chamber Orchestra has been with the school since its foundation. In various school events, such as the entrance ceremony and graduation ceremony, and in important chapµð, such as thanksgiving day worship or worship for the seniors, Ars Chamber Orchestra play beautiful tunes. Ars Chamber Orchestras one of the most active clubs in the school and its members practice each part very eagerly.

Taekwondo Club
The Korean traditional martial art, Taekwondo emphasize the balance between spirit and body. By enhancing the internal strength through Taekwondo, the students learn how to control themselves and deal with any situations they are involved in.
